In May 2020, my daughter Garance sent me a beautiful bouquet for Mother’s Day. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, I was in lockdown in the United States, while my daughter was in Montreal, Canada. I was extremely touched by her gesture. It reminded me that despite the distance and a global pandemic, mother and child relationships continue to foster love and joy. I used the bouquet as a painting inspiration and created my own Mother’s Day card. As restrictions were lifted between the borders, we were able to reunite. I was able to give Garance the painting, which is now displayed in her apartment.
