I visited this beautiful historic colonial house a few years ago with my parents when they came to visit me from France. Now that we live in 2M different continents, we enjoy more than ever visiting touristic and historic sites in France and the US.

This house was the home of General Artemas Ward, an American General in the Revolutionary War and was built by his father in 1727, which is coincidentally the year when the town of Shrewsbury was officially incorporated! It’s fascinating to think about how this house witnessed the very start of this town. I can’t help but think that even if the house went through several modifications it is an amazing witness of the early beginning of the United States.

From the French medieval cathedrals to the historical colonial houses of New England they all bear the same amount of new ideas, hope, and innovation from the people who built them!
